When you invite us to do a review of your business or community, we are NOT doing an inspection or a report of any kind. What we do is simply write about our experiences with your inn, restaurant, community or product and post this review online so that the 120,000+ folks who visit our websites each day will have a chance to share our experience and learn more about you and your business or community.
A review of a business involves the exchange of one night's lodging or, for a restaurant, this would be a comped meal (we take care of the drinks and gratuity) for the review of our experiences to be posted online. While at the review location, we will take photos around the property and save them to disk for you to use as you please. For a product review, simply send us a sample of the product you want us to try! There is no charge for the review, which will remain online in our review section, and you may link to that review from your website if you choose.
When we do a community review, we take lots of photos around the community, which will be saved to disk and given to you for the town's use however they please. These photos are copyright and royalty free. The photos are all standard resolution, 1024x768 or higher, so usable both on the web and for brochures. The review would include photos, a brief history of the area, plans for the future, etc.
Each review includes a link back to the business or community's website. And will include one of our review icons in your listing with us (either a free or upgrade listing - there is no requirement to get an upgrade listing in order to have a review), so that other folks can share our experience and perhaps find out a little more about you and your area. When doing a review of several businesses in a community, all the reviews will be interlinked........For example, if you own an inn and set up a restaurant review for us, the restaurant review will also include a link to the inn's review as well as a link to the restaurant's website.
We have met with mayors, local press, merchants associations, etc. The whole point of the review being to make people more aware of what your businesses and your area have to offer.
You may want to set up restaurant reviews, where we actually take photos of our meal to include in the online review (We get some strange looks in restaurants!), tickets to local events occurring at the time, horseback riding trips, boat trips around a marina, local attraction tours, museum/garden tours, comedy clubs.....anything (short of extreme sports!) you would like us to highlight to help promote your "hometown".
We love to travel and have met so many wonderful folks along the way! We have found that our clients (over 8,000 of you now!) are very loyal and we want to do everything we can to promote your businesses as we travel.
Our lifestyle and way of doing business are unique. We can experience what this great country has to offer, share this information with the world and at the same time introduce Cruising America AND our clients to more people. During each tour, we hand out thousands of business cards. Sometimes we get puzzled looks as we explain what it is we do, but more often we see the fruits of our labors. As we travel down any highway, folks will pass us, honk the horn & wave.......or come up to us at a stop and tell us "I've been to your site!" or "I know about Cruising America!".........and we know that they have visited our sites AND the sites of our clients!
Sometimes it may take as long as two years or more before we get to your area (we have a overstuffed, 10-inch notebook of requested reviews!)....this is a BIG place....but we hope to get to all of you eventually!
Not being independently wealthy, our tours are broken up by "work breaks" when we simply must stop for a while to catch up, release new guides and prepare the bank accounts for the next trip out!
(Having all this fun while working can be very expensive but we try to live by the following philosophy!)
We have currently been on a hiatus in Pensacola, Florida, but will be scheduling reviews in the upcoming months.
